The gift shops carry a wide range of items - local, Belizean, Mexican, Guatemalan and even US products. From the incredible variety of artwork at Belizean Arts in Fido's, to the classical beauty of the jewelry at Emerald Mine, San Pedro Town offers a wealth of unusual and interesting Central American goods.

Take a walk down Front Street, the colorful and interesting stores are all a short walk away. No mall action around here, but quiet comfortable shops await you.

Among the items available for purchase in San Pedro are art, jewelry, wines and liquors, photography, clothing, edibles, furniture and wood or bamboo products, beauty treatments, food of so many kinds, music, ceramics, paintings, travel guides, coins, Cuban cigars and other tobacco products, and oh so much more...

On weekend evenings, the downtown is pedestrian only, making for a delightful evening stroll for shopping with no traffic whatsoever.

Below is a listing of the stores on the island who have an online presence. Take note of them, and look them up when you arrive onto the island. Don't leave without a few new sets of summer clothes!

Several thousands of visitors flock to our little island every year for a nice getaway, and always, theres the dreaded souvenir shopping day, a day reserved solely for buying little gift items for friends back home. To make matters more complicated, gone are the days when a simple Belize t-shirt would do. Now, everyone is a connoisseur of fine art and native artifacts. A t-shirt? Forget it!

Thus, visitors now find themselves reserving a special day for shopping. With the new rules of souvenir shopping, stores and gift shops have had to overhaul their products they offer, and as you will found out, the variety is amazing! From exotic hard woods, Belizean cookbooks, fanciful house accessories to Belizean sauces, rums and spices, the products available just boggle the mind!

Barrier Reef Drive is the main street, and it is only obvious that the shopping experience starts there. From the moment you start strolling down this street, it is obvious that there is no shortage of stores to choose from. Once within the actual stores, choosing products from the wide array available is perhaps the only hard work youll have to do. Everyones tastes are different, and for each discriminating consumer, there is something new.

Other than the usual magnets, picture frames and yes, tshirts, one can find books, purses, clay figurines and food products. Several stores also offer fantastic personal finds that have nothing to do with souvenirs. Many people need to quickly pick up some new clothing items while waiting for their baggage to be flown over; there are stores that offer beautiful items to tide you over! Try the mild, hot or the extra hot. Take them home and share with your friends. These are found at Blu as well as other gift shops around town.

To find fantastic wood carvings, visit the Little Old Craft Shop, located right on Barrier Reef Drive. Visit them as well for great black coral jewelry.

Right at the beginning of Barrier Reef Drive you will come across the gift shop Blu. The store contains many knick knacks that would make great souvenirs, among them are great children books, cook books, books in very interesting Belizean folklore or something that will teach you a bit more about the flora and fauna found inside Mother Natures Best Kept Secret.
